Functional

One aspect of pottery that hooked me initially was its functionality: I love that I’m creating functional art! It is so satisfying to drink coffee from a vessel that not only looks good but can be used on a daily basis. Whether hand built or thrown on the wheel, functional pottery means creating with use in mind. I consider weight and feel, in addition to aesthetic, when making all of my functional pieces.
