This past fall, I completed an exciting commission project!

I was approached at my community studio by a kiln staff member interested in commissioning a miniature of their family’s beach house. They helped fire some of my beach house village series pieces (check them out on the Decorative page!) and asked if I could create this specific piece for them. I gladly took on the challenge and worked with them to produce this fun piece!

The process:

After receiving some photos of the beach house, I got straight to developing a paper pattern that would allow me to create a miniature as close to the original as possible (minus a few colour changes I was asked to make). I had so much fun pushing myself to complete this project and learned what I’m capable of when it comes to finer detail work. It was initially daunting but I took on the project one step at a time and couldn’t be happier with the results!
